One of my major focuses for my own Family History Study is 16th Century New England. I have traced my ancestry back to two separate sets of early settlers, one set mostly settling in Plymouth Colony, and one set mostly Settling in Massachusetts Bay Colony, and towns which eventually became a part of New Hampshire.

In order to study my own ancestors from this era, I have gathered a lot of material on the histories of the different settlements, for in order to properly understand how your ancestors lived, you need to know as much as you can about the times they lived in.

I am presenting some of the more helpful materials here, because I think others can make good use them them as well. Bear in mind that this section is not meant to be a comprehensive history of the area, as the material I have is generally that which focused on the places where my own ancestors lived.

This material is organized first by State and then by Broader Settlement areas, and lastly goes into some of the more localized town histories. I hope you will enjoy perusing these pages, and that you find something you didn't know before.
